Addressing critical issues in times of multiple crises

Our world faces an environmental emergency, significant social unrest, and a series of challenges in corporate governance. To address the significant environmental and social challenges we face, it is critical to highlight the importance of communication and solution-finding through dialogue related to sustainability.

To foster consultation and collaboration, The Sympraxis Team hosted the 2nd Effective Dialogue: Reality Check Conference on the 4th June 2024 in Athens. The themes of the conference explored a broad range of challenges:

• Green Washing and Green Claims
• Sustainable Consumption
• Recycling Myths and Realities
• Forest Fires in Greece
• Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence
• Women’s Status in Greek Society
• Environment, Biodiversity and Energy Infrastructure

The Conference featured over 60 speakers, across 17 panels, and keynote speeches. They initiated a productive dialogue and emphasised the value of involving all stakeholders in decision-making.

More than 200 participants attended. This included corporate executives, representatives from national and international NGOs, institutional bodies, universities, and representatives from the Greek State and Local Government.

The Conference concluded that human connections, social interaction, meaningful dialogue, and communication are essential for wellbeing, longevity and achieving significant goals. Supported by decades of university research, this resolution is key to solving problems at every level.
